Monochrome Skies

“Hey, grandpa, is this your diary?”

“Yes, be careful with it.”

April 25 1966 —

As I stand behind the glass front window, I often wonder what comes next.

Wild wind brings in another Sunday cloud storm. The rain pitter pats softly.

Staring out into the future unknown, “did I make a grand mistake?”

It’s a little bit lonely down here.

I see the neighbours boy riding his tricycle. Bright red, on a monochrome palette. I’m sorry I never wanted that.

My current love sees through me. I’m sorry to put her through that.

It’s a little bit lonely down here.

Still, I often wonder what comes next.
